Bug Squisher

Welcome. In this game, you try to squish as many bugs as possible while avoiding getting infected from too many bites.

There are five parts to this app that are connected from the lower tab.

The "Bugs" tab leads you back to the intro screen with the army of bugs. The "Squish" tab leads to the game. The "My Stuff" tab leads to a personal preferences screen. The "Scores" tab leads to the top scores submitted for Bug Squisher. And, of course, the "Help" tab lead you here.

Playing the game

Playing the game involves moving the finger tip around by touching the screen and sliding it. Both the bug and the finger tip move only one square at a time. Moving the finger on top of the bug squishes it. The bug moves on its own in a random manner. If it jumps onto the finger, then the finger gets bitten. The score is the the number of bug squishes before the maximum number of bites allowed before infection sets in.

The game has three levels: easy, medium and hard. The game level affects how often the bug moves and the maxiumum number of bites allowed before infection sets and ends the game (seven for easy, five for medium and three for hard).

When the finger has too many bites, you are infected and the game ends with the following alert and an invitation to try again. If your score was higher than the previously recorded one for that game level, then it will be in the "Best so far" column in the "My Stuff" screen.

Personal preferences

Hitting the "My Stuff" tab brings up the personal preferences screen. The highest scores so far on your device for the three levels are shown. You can post your scores, with a given posting name, to the CocosLive website. You can also set the difficulty level for the next game.

Scores

The top Bug Squishers are downloaded from the CocosLive website shown when the "Scores" tab is touched. The scores are sortable by game level (easy/medium/hard) and by the squisher's country. The download is "live" so it might take a second or two, depending on the speed of the internet connection.

Help

Within the game, there is also a "Help" tab with similar information as on this web page.
